The invention relates to motor vehicle technology. The field of application is motor vehicles, agricultural machinery, mobile working machinery, which are equipped with an electrically actuated tailgate and a deactivation device for the engine according to ECE 18. The essential features of the invention consist in the fact that a closed-circuit switch for the tailgate is arranged between the ignition starter steering lock and a magnetic directional control valve which is assigned to the deactivation of the engine, which closed-circuit switch is connected to a relay and can be actuated by the reverse light switch. The magnet of the directional control valve is either actuated directly by the ignition starter steering lock or, in another position, via the closed-circuit switch of the tailgate, it being possible for the said switch to be disconnected via a relay by means of the reverse light switch. <IMAGE>
