The invention relates to a device for deflecting (vectoring) a fluid jet, especially a thrust jet (3) emerging from a thrust nozzle (2) of a missile (1), having a deflection element (vectoring element) or jet control surface (5) which can be introduced into the fluid jet, in a controlled manner, essentially at right angles thereto. In order to shorten the switching times of such jet control surfaces and to enable mechanically simple construction of the entire device, it is proposed according to the invention that the deflection element be a vane (5) of a driven impeller wheel, whose other parts do not enter the thrust jet (3), or enter it only to an insignificant extent, during rotation of the impeller wheel (4). The impeller wheels (4) are driven either with the aid of a servo motor (8) or by the thrust jet (3) itself, the actuating device then being constructed as a brake (9, 10). <IMAGE>
