In the case of previous commercially available paragliders, the chamber internal pressure which is necessary to form a profile capable of providing lift, is built up by relatively large air inlet openings on the individual cells. This profile has very poor aerodynamic characteristics. This situation is intended to be improved by the arrangement of a valve flap system along the air inlet openings. A valve flap system, consisting of a two-piece (a fibre fabric which is impermeable to air and a gauze fabric which is air-permeable) moving cloth strip, is arranged on each individual cell. In consequence, a closed profile is produced when the chamber internal pressure is adequate, the aerodynamic characteristics of which profile are greatly improved and whose flying performance is in consequence considerably improved.
