<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate the need of any dustproof tower and coolant circulation pump and hence to reduce the equipment and operating costs, by diffusely introducing an absorbent liquid into an exhaust gas inlet plenum and an exhaust gas entrance duct in communication therewith and moistening the inner surface of exhaust gas entrance pipe with the absorbent liquid. CONSTITUTION:An absorbent liquid is sprayed in a small particle form from diffusing nozzles 3 and 8 and exhaust gases are introduced from an exhaust gas entrance duct 7 for gas/liquid contact between the exhaust gases and the particles of the absorbent liquid filled in the interior space of an exhaust gas inlet plenum chamber 12, whereby the contaminants in the exhaust gases are partially captured and absorbed by the particles of the absorbent liquid, while the exhaust gases are cooled to increase their humidity. Both of the exhaust gases and the particles of the absorbent liquid are then introduced diffusely into an absorbent liquid 6 through an exhaust gas entrance pipe 2 to form a jet bubbling layer A. The contaminants left unabsorbed are captured and absorbed by the absorbent liquid in the jet bubbling layer A and the decontaminated exhaust gases are discharged through an exhaust gas exit duct 10 and a mist eliminator 11.</p> |
