PURPOSE:To obtain a head in which a unipolar head suitable for the recording of a vertical magnetization and a ring head for reproducing with a high efficiency and a high resolution are unified with a high accuracy by causing the I-shaped core of the ring head to be common as one part of the magnetic circuit of the unipolar head for recording. CONSTITUTION:Between a C-shaped core 1 made of a ferrite magnetic substance, etc., and an I-shaped core 2 made of the ferrite magnetic substance, etc., the ring head, in which a gap 7 for reproducing is formed, is composed. At the trailing side of the I-shaped core 2, a high saturation magnetic flux density magnetic thin film 3 is made to adhere by means of a sputtering, etc., and a main pole for recording is composed of the I-shaped core 2 and the film 3. Consequently, at the time of executing a magnetic recording onto a vertical magnetic recording medium 10, the high saturation magnetic flux density magnetic thin film 3 is magnetized by a coil 6 for recording, and a sharp vertical magnetic field suitable for the recording of the vertical magnetization is generated. Since the reproduction is executed by the gap 7 for reproducing of the ring head, by causing a gap length to be small with a high efficiency, the reproduction with a high resolution can be executed. Thus, the head to record and reproduce with a high accuracy can be obtained in being unified. |
