A roof-bolt drilling apparatus for making roof-bolt holes for roof bolts for hanging box-shaped support sections with running surfaces for load-carrying running gear. The roof-bolt drilling apparatus has a head plate suspended on the load-carrying running gear and having pull mechanisms for tension chains and pull chains which serve to guide and feed a drilling implement. In addition, the drilling apparatus has props serving to support the support section to be placed in each case.
