The invention relates to a process for producing a composite part and also to a composite part, in particular a sound-dampening part. A backing part of plastic is bonded to a foam-based dampening part. In order to achieve improved acoustic properties with a production process which is as simple as possible, a sound-insulating part in the form of a heavy-gauge film is arranged between the backing part and the dampening part. Before a bonding of the parts, the backing part and the sound-insulating part are heated to an approximately soft and spongy state and the backing part, the insulating part and the dampening part are then bonded to one another by pressing. The backing part (2), the dampening part (4) and the insulating part (3) are bonded to one another by placing directly against one another. <IMAGE>
