<p>PURPOSE: To suppress the heating effect between diodes while preventing the print quality from lowering by arranging the diodes at a long interval and supplying a current pulse with an appropriate time lag. CONSTITUTION: The light emitting diode array comprises more than one array of a plurality of diodes, a unit for supplying a current pulse to the diode, and a unit for delaying current pulse supply wherein the diode has a predetermined width and the distance between adjacent diodes in the array and the distance between adjacent arrays are set sufficiently longer than the predetermined width. More specifically, thermal coupling is suppressed and the diode array inclines against the direction of relative motion between a paper and a print head during print process. The unit for delaying current pulse supply functions to energizes the diode immediately upon a same position is occupied in the direction of relative motion during print process and a print line vertical to the direction of relative motion is obtained.</p> |
