PURPOSE: To prevent the deterioration of a decorative pattern or the like by using a contrast sheet composed of an opaque substance and constituted of a single layer having a predetermined thickness as a support receiving member of sublimable ink. CONSTITUTION: A single layer sheet 1 has opacity by its coloration and is perfectly suitable for acting as a contrast substrate for embossing a decorative pattern within a range of decoration by the transfer of a sublimable colorant. Further, the single layer contrast sheet 1 becomes a supporting and receiving member of sublimed ink. Printing is applied to the upper surface 2 of the single layer sheet 1 by the transfer of the sublimable colorant. The decorative pattern to be printed is contained on support pasteboard and bonded to the upper surface 2 of the sheet 1 under pressure. A sublimation reaction condition is determined so that the moving front line 5 of the sublimable colorant moves over a distance almost equal to the thickness of the single layer contrast sheet 1 in consideration of the thickness 'e' of the contrast sheet 1. |
