METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ADJUSTING FOCUS OF TELEVISION CAMERA

PURPOSE:To attain focusing with high accuracy by allowing a 2nd focus means to move the 2nd focus lens and to apply fine adjustment of focusing the focus lens with respect to a high spatial frequency component causing difficulty of visual judgement after the adjustment of focusing by a 1st focus means. CONSTITUTION:A drive means 22 is controlled in a manner of moving the 2nd focus lens 12 for plural number of times at a prescribed time interval by a prescribed moving quantity while being activated in the reception of a start signal from an external start button 33 or after the end of the drive of a 1st focus lens 10. Then the focus quantity with respect to the high spatial frequency component obtained via a high pass filter 64 at each moving position is calculated, the position of the 2nd focus lens 12 to obtain the best image forming performance is decided and the 2nd focus lens 12 is moved to the position. Thus, the fine adjustment for focusing the focus lens with respect to the high spatial frequency component causing difficulty in the visual judgement is attained. Then the focus adjustment with high accuracy is attained.
