This invention relates to an improved process for separating an azeotrope of toluenediamine from N-tertiary-butyl-toluenediamine by contacting the azeotrope with a hydrocarbon which forms a lower boiling azeotrope with toluenediamine and one in which the solubility of toluenediamine is less than 30 grams/100 grams of hydrocarbon.
