PURPOSE:To improve the sensitivity and color developability without deteriorating other photographic characteristics by incorporating a specified pyrazoloazole type coupler and a specified compound into a silver halide photographic layer. CONSTITUTION:A pyrazoloazole type coupler represented by general formula I and a compound represented by general formula A are incorporated into a silver halide color photographic layer. In the formula I, R<1> is H or a substituent, X is H or a group eliminable by a coupling reaction with the oxidized product of an aromatic primary amine developing agent, each of Za, Zb and Zc is methine, substituted methine, =N- or -NH-, one of the Za-Zb and Zb-Zc bonds is a double bond and the other is a single bond. In the formula A, Y is aryl, alkyl, a heterocyclic group, -P(=O, side chain' -R5, side chain)-R4 or -C(=O, side chain)-R4, R' is alkyl, arylene or aralkylene, R is alkyl or aryl, Y and R are not simultaneously alkyl and R5 is alkyl, aryl, amino, alkoxy or aryloxy. |
