A process for the activating treatment of allophane comprises crushing allophane rocks to the dia. size of 1-2cm, heating at 700- 800≦̸C, cooling, soaking in hydrochloric acid soln. for 24-240 hr., washing in flowing water, drying through steam and crushing to the particle size of 10-200 mesh. The allophane is used for the purification of city water and natural water, and gives a suitable elution of essential minerals for human body.
