PURPOSE:To automatically control the size of the opening of the supply port of a device depending on the quantity of a conveyed granular or powdery material such as cereal grains which is supplied onto a belt conveyor by the device, by providing gate plates which are energized in directions to close and whose opening degree can be restricted. CONSTITUTION:The supply port 3 of a supply device 1 is made by cutting its upper plate 2. A pair of guide plates 4 are provided under the supply port 3. Gates 8 are supported by shafts 9 under the guide plates 4 so that the gates can swing. Weights 10 are provided on the upper parts of the bottom plates 6 of the gates 8 to energize them in directions to close. The gates 8 are provided with engaged pins 16 in side plates 7 so that the opening of the gates is controlled by a lever 12 and a stopper 14. When cereal grains are thrown in through the supply port 3, the grains are directed by the guide plates 4 and collide against the bottom plates 6 to turn the gates 8 in the directions of arrows in the drawing, about the shafts 9, so that the grains flow down to a belt conveyor 11. The opening of the gates 8 is increased or decreased depending on the weight of the grains. The two gates 8 are closed by the gravity of the weights 10. |
