METHOD FOR INCREASING MILK SECRETION OF MAMMALS AND/OR INCREASING BIDY WEIGHT OF NEWBORN AT BIRTHDAY AND PROMOTING GROWTH AFTER BIRTH

PURPOSE: To increase the lactation of mammals and/or increase the birth body weight of a newborn of the mammals, and promote the postnatal growth, by administering an effective amount of a human growth hormone-reledsing factor (hGRF) to a female of the mammals over a specific period in the gestation period. CONSTITUTION: The hGRF which is a factor for stimulating the secretion of a human growth hormone or its analog or its active fragment is administered to a female of mammals over 10-20 days at the completion of 2/3 of the gestation period to promote and increase the lactation of the mammals and/or administered over 10-20 days immediately preceding parturition to increase the body weight of a newborn of the mammals and further promote the postnatal growth. An active fragment [hGRF (1-29)] containing 29 amino acids is preferably used as the active fragment of the hGRF. The method is preferably applied to animals of the ovine, caprine, bovine and porcine species.
