<p>A recording apparatus of toner image transfer type, having an improved cleaning device for removing residual contaminants on the surface of a rotating recording drum after toner image transfer. The cleaning unit includes a blade of counter type engaging with downwardly moving surface of the drum, a rotatable cleaning brush disposed immediately upstream from the blade, and a housing structure shielding the blade and the rotatable fur brush. The housing is evacuated by an air pump, and external air is introduced from an opening of the housing, where the fur brush and the blade engage with the surface of the drum. Thereby, the contaminants removed by the blade and the fur brush from the surface of the drum is efficiently discharged by the aid of air flow having velocity enhanced by the above-described pneumatic structure. The air velocity is further enhanced by forming an air passage passing through the fur brush.</p> |
