PURPOSE:To provide the title thin membrane having low electrical resistance and excellent mechanical strength and utilized for primary batteries, sensors, etc., by filling an ion conductor into the pores of a specific solid high polymer porous thin membrane. CONSTITUTION:An ion conductor (e.g., polyethylene glycol) is filled into the pores of a solid high polymer porous membrane (e.g., PE having a weight- average mol.wt. of >=5X10<5>) having a membrane thickness of 0.1-50mum (preferably 2-25mum), a porosity of 40-90% (preferably 60-90%), an average penetrated pore diameter of 0.001-0.1mum (preferably 0.005-0.1mum) and a breaking strength of 200kg/cm<2> (preferably 500kg/cm<2>) to provide the objective thin membrane. It is preferable for the ion conductor to have a surface tension of <=50dyen.cm<-1> at 20 deg.C and a contact angle of (-)70 deg. with the solid high polymer porous membrane in order to subject the ion conductor to capillary condensation in the pores for the immobilization thereof. |
