ADAPTIVE TYPE CODING CONTROL SYSTEM

摘要

PURPOSE:To attain efficient coding by comparing the total code length of a coded signal for each block of information coded by plural kinds of coders and outputting selectively a coded signal with the shortest total code length. CONSTITUTION:The information generated from an information generating source 1 is coded simultaneously by plural kinds of coders 2-1-2-n and the total code length of the coded signal for each block of the information is obtained and compared by a comparator section 3. Then the coded signal with the minimum total code length is selected to be a signal by the optimum coding system with respect to the information block and the result is selectively outputted from a selector 4. Even when the probability of production of information is fluctuated timewise, the optimum coding system is selected for each block to attain the efficient coding.
