PURPOSE:To enhance the responsiveness in torque transmission with a compact structure by increasing the apparent viscosity of an operating fluid inside an operating chamber, or by narrowing the space between a first and a second resistance plates, and arranging an electromagnet in the axial direction so that the shearing resistance of the operating fluid can be increased. CONSTITUTION:An operating chamber 14 is defined by a first and a second rotating members 9, 13, and a magnetic fluid 31 is enclosed in it. The first rotating member 9 is constituted by an inside cylinder 8, and is fitted so as to be integrally rotated with an output shaft 5, while the second rotating member 13 is constituted by an outside cylinder 10 and right and left end wall members 12, 11, and is arranged on the outside of the first rotating member 9. Further, a first and a second resistance plates 15, 16 alternately connected to the inside and outside cylinders 8, 10 with narrow clearances respectively are arranged inside the operating chamber 14, and an electromagnet 17 in which a coil is wound around in the circumferential direction of the outside cylinder 10 is provided. Accordingly, torque transmission can be quickly carried out with a compact structure, and stable running can be enabled, thus the responsiveness in differential limitation can be enhanced. |
