PURPOSE:To attain focusing with high accuracy by allowing a 2nd focus means to apply fine adjustment of focusing a focus lens with respect to a high spatial frequency component causing difficulty of visual judgement after the adjustment of lens focus. CONSTITUTION:A drive means 16 is controlled in a manner of moving a focus lens for plural number of times at a prescribed time interval by a prescribed moving quantity while being activated in the reception of a start signal from an external start button 33 based on the end of focus lens drive coming from a 1st focus means 32 or manual operation. Then the 2nd focus means is pro vided, which calculates the quantity of focusing with respect to a high spatial frequency component obtained through a high pass filter 64 at each moving position, decides the position where the best image forming performance of the focus lens 10 is obtained and moves the focus lens 10 to the position. As a result, the fine adjustment for focusing the focus lens with respect to the high spatial frequency component causing difficulty in the visual judgement is attained. Thus, the focus adjustment with high accuracy is attained. |
