In a braking system of the type having a hydraulic brake booster (12), an anti-lock control unit (30) is utilized for stopping driving wheel slippage at starting or rapid acceleration as well as for stopping wheel lock at braking. The braking system is provided with a secondary brake supply conduit (50) for introducing a hydraulic pressure from a hydraulic pressure source (22) directly into a brake unit for a spinning driving wheel. A driving wheel slip control valve (52) is disposed at a junction between the secondary brake pressure supply conduit (50) and a main brake pressure supply line (26) for fluidly connecting the secondary brake pressure supply line to the anti-lock control unit only when wheel slippage occurs.
