PURPOSE:To improve workability and productivity, by a method wherein an upper and a lower fixed cylinders, guiding a grinding table on a peripheral surface, a guide means, preventing a grinding tape from making vertical movement, are provided, and during grinding, a magnetic head is rotated between the upper and the lower fixed cylinders togetherwith a disc. CONSTITUTION:Since a magnetic head 27 is of a type in which it is attached to a rotary disc 26 and rotated togetherwith the disc 26, the plural magnetic heads 27 are attached to the disc and can be simultaneously ground to improve working efficiency. A grinding tape 15, running in a state to be wound around the peripheral surfaces of upper and lower fixed cylinders 11 and 12, from which the magnetic heads 27 are protruded, is apt to move vertically. When the magnetic head 27 is applied as a load (brought into contact with the tape), the magnitude of the vertical movement is sharply increased, and the desired shape of a guide is difficult to form. In which case, a guide means 13 placed on the peripheral surface of a fixed cylinder 10 prevents vertical movement of the grinding tape 15 to stabilize running of the grinding tape 15. |
