MULTIPLE STAGE REACTOR SYSTEM FOR A MOVING CATALYST BED

A multi-stage reactor system for radial flow contact of a reactant stream with catalyst particles movable in an annular bed has a vertical chamber (4) divided into two sections. The upper section is an annulus filled with a catalyst and is defined at the bottom by a partition. An annular form catalyst collecting zone (27) is below the catalyst retaining section. Catalyst outlets (31) are uniformly circumferentially spaced in the bottom of the collecting zone. Radial flow across the bed is improved.
