Substituted isoxazoles of the formula <IMAGE> I in which R1 denotes C1-C4 alkyl, R2 denotes hydrogen, C1-C4 alkyl chlorine or bromine, R3 and R4, which are the same or different are hydrogen or C1-C4 alkyl, but not both hydrogen and n denotes the interger 6, 7, or 8. The novel ocmpounds have a pronounced antiviral action and can be employed for the treatment and prophylaxis of virus diseases.
