A windshield mounting arrangement comprises a strip of foam PVC material or the like integral with softer PVC material in which is defined a channel running longitudinally of the strip. The channel embraces a mounting flange around the windshield opening and supports the strip in position. The soft material defines an L-shaped surface for receiving the windshield glass. This surface has two parts, substantially at right angles to each other, and one of these parts contacts the surface of this glass on the inside of the windshield and adjacent its periphery and the other part contacts the peripheral edge of the glass. The glass is secured in position by the adhesive in a channel in and running longitudinally along the first of these parts, and also by a stiff fixing member which locks into a slot below the other part of the surface. |
