<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate loss due to resistors of a dummy load in operation by using a circuit connecting said resistors and thyristor switches in series as said dummy load to be connected in parallel with thyristor converters connected in series. CONSTITUTION:The secondary windings of a transformer 4 are connected so as to have a phase difference of 30 degrees and thyristor converters 5A, 5B are connected with each of them. The outputs of said thyristor converters 5A, 5B are connected in series and supplied to the field winding 2 of a synchronous machine. Also, a dummy load connecting thyristor switches 8A, 8B and resistors 7A, 7B in series is connected in parallel with the thyristor converters 5A, 5B. Said thyristor switches 8A, 8B are turned ON, when a field current is small, and turned OFF, when said current reaches a certain degree of magnitude. In this manner, loss due to said resistors of the dummy load in operation is eliminated.</p> |
