AC GENERATOR FOR VEHICLE

PURPOSE:To constitute a means for supplying a field coil with an electric current in a noncontact manner by converting DC voltage into AC voltage and by supplying said field coil with said AC voltage via a transformer where primary and secondary coils are magnetically combined rotatably. CONSTITUTION:Transistors 12a, 12b of an inverter 12 alternately repeat the ON-OFF state by the command of a voltage regulation means 13 so that an AC current flows through a primary coil 14. Then, an alternating field is generated in a magnetic circuit composed of a rotor core 18 from a stator core 17 through an air gap. In this manner, an AC voltage is induced in a secondary coil 15 and rectified by a rectifier 16 so that a DC current flows through a field coil 3. Thus, it is possible to obtain a vehicle AC generator generating no pollution, not restricted in a service rotational speed and excellent in environmental resistance.
