PURPOSE:To provide a preventive and remedy for cell damage, containing kallibdotoxin and capable of further highly protecting the damage of organ cell caused by ischemia and anoxia, damage of neurocyte caused by myelic injury or damage of drepanocyte caused by sickling. CONSTITUTION:The objective preventive or remedy for the above cell damages effective against various diseases at an extremely low concentration contains, as an active component, kallibdotoxin or a fragment having calcium-dependent potassium run-off channel inhibiting action and derived from the proteinase decomposition product of kallibdotoxin. The dose of any of the above active component is 0.02-0.5mg/kg-body weight/day, preferably 0.1-0.2mg/kg-body weight/day for oral administration, 0.015-0.3mg/kg-body weight/day, preferably 0.05-0.15mg/kg-body weight/day for intramuscular or subcutaneous injection and 0.01-0.2mg/kg-body weight/day, preferably 0.05-0.1mg/kg-body weight/day for intraveous injection. |
