PURPOSE:To decrease a luminance irregularity in the upper and lower directions of a picture by impressing an adjoining signal electrode different in polarity through a TFT always made into an off condition to a pixel electrode. CONSTITUTION:The pixels are a divided into first group and a second group, and at respective pixels, the a first and second TFT1 and 1' are provided. The pixel of the first group and the pixel of the second group are mutually adjoiningly arranged. A video signal is impressed through a video signal sampleholding circuit 16 and a non-inverting circuit 18 to the first TFT1, and this and the signal different in porality are impressed through an inverting circuit 19 to the second TFT1'. Thus, the electric potential difference at both edges of the off resistance of the first TFT1 and the electric potential at both edges of the off resistance of the second TFT1' are mutually cancelled, the rate, in which the electric potential of the pixel electrode is decreased, comes to be the same at any row of the picture and the luminance irregularity is decreased in the upper and lower directions.
