PURPOSE: To recognize a stereoscopic image by a simple flat plate type screen device by recognizing only one of alternate arrays of pixels with the left eye of an observer and the other array of pixels with the right eye. CONSTITUTION: Radiation 35 on a screen 31 is positioned behind the border of adjacent pixels 33 and 34 of a light valve 32. All the radiation 35 is seen through the pixel 33 with the left eye of the observer on an imaginary vertical line 36 parallel to the light valve 32 and a bright image of the pixel 33 is recognized, but the pixel 34 is too dark to recognize. Further, all the radiation 35 is seen through the pixel 34 with the left eye on the vertical line 36 and the image 34 is light and visible, but the image 33 can not be recognized. Thus, the observer places the right eye in an observation area 38 and the left eye in an observation area 37 to recognize a pair of stereoscopic images individually. Consequently, the image can be recognized stereoscopically through the simple device. |
