<p>PURPOSE:To increase insulating strength as well as to contrive miniaturization of an electric machine by a method wherein an insulating medium, which is solidified at the refrigerant temperature of a low temperature refrigerant, is coated around the electric machines to be cooled. CONSTITUTION:Electric machines 1 and 2, which are cooled by a low temperature refrigerant 4, are covered by an insulating medium 8 which solidifies at the low temperature refrigerant temperature. Insulating oil, water, SF6 and alcohol are used as the medium 8. As a result, when the concentrated part of electric field in the vicinity of the machines 1 and 2 is solidified, the medium 8 is solidified, and dielectric strength can be improved when compared with the refrigerant 4 such as liquid nitrogen, for example. As a result, the electric machines can be made small in size.</p> |
