PURPOSE:To connect printing smoothly to a newly set paper when a paper run-out condition occurs during a printing operation, by disposing an end sensor for detecting the end of a continuous form paper at a position spaced from a printing position toward the paper-supplying side by a distance greater than a one-page length but smaller than a two-page length of the continuous form paper. CONSTITUTION:When the second last page 11a and the last page 11b of a continuous form paper come to the vicinity of a printing position during a printing operation of a printer device, a page end is detected by a sensor 15 before the last page 11b reaches a printing head 13. In response to the detection of the page end, the printer device stops printing upon finishing the printing operation for the second last page 11a, and feeds in a new continuous form paper. Then, printing is started on the first page of the new continuous form paper. Therefore, printing is finished through detection of the page end before the printing on the last page 11b is started, and printing of continuous data without splitting a one-page amount of data can be ensured even when the continuous form paper runs out. |
