PURPOSE:To increase the protonic conductivity of a film by casting a soln. of a salt of a perfluorosulfonate polymer and successively subjecting the resulting film to immersion in an acid, saturation with water, freezing and drying under reduced pressure. CONSTITUTION:A soln. of a salt of a perfluorosulfonate polymer is cast and the resulting film is immersed in an acid, saturated with water, freezed and dried under reduced pressure to form a protonic conductive film. The salt of the polymer is generally the Na salt but may be other cationic salt. When the film is immersed in the acid, it is preferably immersed in 1N sulfuric acid at 70 deg.C for 1hr and the immersion is repeated three times. The sulfuric acid is used in >=10/1 weight ratio to the polymer. The protonic conductive film having increased protonic conductivity is obtd. |
