<p>PURPOSE:To promote the recording density in view of digital audio data by recording a pilot signal to a signal as of digital audio data after frequency multiplexing and performing a track servo with this pilot signal at the time of reproducing. CONSTITUTION:Digital data are supplied to a precoder 25 for operating a partial response process, and an output signal of this precoder is supplied to a high pass filter 26 to be turned into a digital signal Sd. The frequency multiplexing is carried out with the pilot signal Sp located in a low band component band of this digital signal Sd, and this frequency multiplexing signal is supplied to recording heads 1A and 1B to be recorded in turn to a track of a recording medium 2 on a unit of a prescribed period. Then, there is no need of a track section for recording and reproducing the pilot signal Sp only provided that the tracking servo is performed by this pilot signal Sp at the time of reproducing. By this method, the recording density in view of the digital audio data can be promoted.</p> |
