PURPOSE:To reduce the chip size and to lower the manufacturing cost by a method wherein color filters are so formed on a photodetector that desired spectral characteristics may be selected. CONSTITUTION:On a photodetector 1 on a semiconductor chip, color filters 2a-2n desired colors are built, enabling the realization of desired spectral characteristics. Light is separated into its components in the color filters 2a-2n and goes into said photodetector, and the optical components are covered therein into corresponding electrical signals, and the sum of the electrical signals is taken out at the photodetector output. The gain of the optical power to be analyzed spectroscopically is made variable dependent upon the type of the color filters 2a-2n or on the adjustment of the film thickness. |
