PURPOSE:To form a coating material composition having excellent odor absorptivity, by mixing a paint binder and a hydrated magnesium silicate clay mineral in a specified ratio. CONSTITUTION:A coating material composition formed by mixing 100pts.wt. (solids) paint binder and 50pts.wt. hydrated magnesium silicate clay mineral. Examples of the clay mineral include sepiolite and palygorskite. As the paint binder, a cement, a polymer cement or a polymer latex can be used. The clay mineral may be powdery, granular or laminar, is preferably ground to such an extent that the holes thereof still remain, and preferably comprises aggregates of fine crystals having a length of 10mum or less and an aspect ratio of 100 or less.
