A clamping device (12) for a safety belt system, particularly for use in motor vehicles, has a fixed clamping jaw (13) and a movable clamping jaw (14) arranged to be controlled by sensors, a safely belt (11) being guided between the clamping jaws. The movable clamping jaw (14) has a clamping plate (18) which is arranged such that in the clamped position it is disposed parallel to the fixed clamping jaw and to the belt. The clamping plate (18) is integral with the movable clamping jaw (14) and, under a clamping load, is capable of changing its position relative to the movable clamping jaw (14) by deformation of elastic support member 20. <IMAGE> |
