PURPOSE:To improve oxygen permeability, hydrophilic contact angle and staining resistance by modifying the surface of a contact lens stock by using at least >=1 kinds of compds. selected from the group of a fluoroalkyl compd. having a carbonyl group and fluoroalkyl ether compd. having a carbonyl group. CONSTITUTION:The contact lens made of silicone is obtd. by adding and mixing, for example, 1 part RG catalyst to 10 parts two component type silicone RTV 'Rubber Compound KE106RTV(R)' (product of The Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd.), defoaming the mixture in a vacuum, pouring the mixture into a metallic mold for lens production and heating and curing the mixture, then immersing the molding in water and subjecting the same to after-curing in an autoclave. This contact lens is placed in the reactor of a plasma polymn. apparatus. The compd. expressed by formula I is heated and gaseous argon is blown into this compd. This gaseous mixture is introduced into the reactor of the polymn. apparatus and is subjected to plasma irradiation, by which a low-temp. plasma treatment is executed. The oxygen permeability, hydrophilic contact angle and staining resistance of the resultant contact lens are improved. |
