Process making it possible to remove any transferable contamination of nuclear order, without, however, creating new contaminating waste of nuclear order. This process is characterised by the application of the following three stages: Stage 1: spraying and covering of the contaminated surfaces with carbon dioxide snow, without causing blowing; Stage 2: immediately after stage 1, very close projection of a jet of vapour or of hot air onto the covered surfaces; Stage 3: forced ventilation involving the complete evaporation of the carbon dioxide snow, giving rise to the sublimation phenomenon. The device for making use of the process comprises an emitter of carbon dioxide snow and an ejector for water vapour at a temperature above 70 DEG C. This process and its devices which apply it is particularly intended for the removal of any transferable contamination due to nuclear reactions. <IMAGE>
