The invention relates to wedges and soles for cyclo-cross shoes. The wedge 2, which forms the subject of the invention, includes a front part 21, a transverse groove 22 intended for positioning the shoe with respect to the pedal, means 24 for fixing onto the sole 1 and a heel 23 provided with two crampons 231. The crampons 231 act as a stop piece for positioning the pedal in the transverse groove 22. The sole 1 is adapted to receive the wedge 2 and comprises a set of transverse notches 5, 8 and two crampons 9 at the level of the heel 7 to improve grip on the ground and to prevent slipping. <IMAGE>
