The machine is suitable for twisting and re-twisting natural or synthetic textile yarns, or copper wires. They are threaded through guide pulleys and through the middle of perforated shafts to the traction pulleys, which determine the entry speed of the yarns. The small spindle guides the yarn and proceeds to form a bobbin or fill a reel. On the inside end of the plates and on their shafts are pinions which engage with toothed pulleys and drive the pulleys through toothed belts. - The pinions are fixed to the shafts of the plates which on their upper part have yarn-guide pulleys such that when plates turn to the right, plates turn to the left, so that a flat band, with no twist at the first plate, will receive four twists on reaching the fourth plate, while the plates will have made only a single turn. The whole assembly is floating, supported only by the shafts and their barings. |
