According to the invention, for welding ends of tape for sealing joints a heated tool is used, the heating cartridges of which are arranged in the region of the welding faces of the sealing-joint tape ends coming into pressing contact with the heated tool, and which is equipped with temperature sensors for controlling the welding temperature in order to ensure a satisfactory welding of the sealing-joint tape ends.
