A cheap base metal is formed into any desired shape and is held in a chamber (3) which is filled with wax to cover the base metal (2). The wax layer (5) over the base metal (2) is sculptured into a suitable thickness of the wax layer to form a shell mould (6) over the layer (5). The shell mould (6) is emptied of the wax by heating and is poured through inlet (4) with a molten precious metal having a lower m.p. than that of the base metal to produce a dual metal structure for finishing to an accessory. The method provides a cheap way of substituting for metal plating of accessories.
