The invention relates to a method of reinforcing workpieces in which a prepreg is applied to the surface of the workpiece. The special feature of the method is that workpieces of different cross-section can be reinforced on the outside and/or if appropriate on the inside as well. Applying the prepreg layer is carried out under the effect of an aerostatically generated pressure.
