Claims 1 to 5 claim alkyd resins, a process for their preparation, and their use, the above being distinguished by the fact that no organic solvents are used in the preparation. The alkyd resins are clear, virtually odourless and have a low viscosity. As binders in paints, these should not contain from more than 10 to 15 % by weight of organic solvents (white spirit).
