Method of obtaining heat energy from environmental fluids

Method of utilising the heat energy from environmental fluids for producing mechanical work or generating electricity with the aid of an energy conversion system, in which the source fluid delivers heat to the working fluid of a drive device with the aid of a first heat exchanger unit and in doing so cools and the source fluid emerging from the first heat exchanger unit is further cooled by being conducted through a further cooling system which contains either a turbine or an expansion device or both. The further cooled source fluid is used for cooling the expanded working fluid of the drive device and the source fluid emerging from the energy conversion system can be used for other cooling or freezing processes such as for example desalination of sea water, cooling of superconductors or the like.
