PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering of meat quality of a ruminant caused by the stress, etc., of transportation, by administering a ruminant with a large amount of rumen-bypassing agent composed of L-tryptophan within a specific short period before the transportation of the ruminant. CONSTITUTION:A ruminant is administered with a rumen-bypassing agent composed of L-tryptophan (salt) within 48hr before the transportation or transfer of the ruminant at a rate of 10-400mg of the agent per 1kg of the body weight per day. It is preferable to improve the rumen-bypassing ratio by using a coating agent to control the solubility of L-tryptophan (salt). |
