<p>To ensure good adhesion, perfect biocompatibility and corrosion resistance of a sliding layer (31, 32) applied to the sliding surface (2) of a joint endoprosthesis (1), a biocompatible Ti layer (31) is sprayed on to the sliding region of the metal endoprosthesis (1), followed immediately by a bio-inert TiO2 layer (32) with a non-porous, particularly compact, pronounced lamellar structure. In special cases, the adhesive Ti layer (31) can be dispensed with. The sliding layer (31, 32) is produced by a thermal spraying process, preferably by vacuum plasma discharge.</p> |
