A method for conveying and depositing an adhesive, flexible material (28) by means of a flexible base (10) in right side up position and essentially maintaining its shape on a depositing station (27). The base (10) is supported by a displaceable supporting device (12) equipped with a guiding member (18), which imparts a direction change to the base. The supporting device at the deposition moves away the base below the material thus that this is deposited by means of free fall. The material (28) is positioned on the base (10) a distance from the delivery end of the supporting device (12) corresponding to the acceleration distance of the base (10). One, the rear end of the base (10) is fixedly attached against displacement. The base is teared away from the contact surface in that it is urged to make an abrupt direction change over a guiding member (18) having a very small curvature radius (r) at the front end of the supporting device. The supporting device (12) and the base (10) are simultaneously accelerated rearwardly at an acceleration, which shall be at least 1 g (g = acceleration of gravity), preferably considerably bigger than 1 g. |
