The cardboard container has a base wall (1) and four sides (2-5) which in addition to connecting flaps (3') have reinforcements (2') of folded back flaps connected to the side walls. Above the carrying handle opening the wall thickness is doubled by folding back the flaps. In the unfolded state support flaps (2'') engage in slits in the base wall. The container can be folded down flat to a fraction of the overall volume. ADVANTAGE - Lighter weight cardboard can be used although the box is strong enough for bottles.
